LEARNING IS NOT A SPECTATOR SPORT.
In Berea, we believe the best way to learn is to do. Simple as that. That’s why we call our workshops Learnshops. And celebrate the joy of learning by doing at an annual Festival of Learnshops, (July 14-28, 2012). Imagine two solid weeks of master craftsmen, artists, musicians, chefs, award-winning writers and experts in sustainable living sharing, showing and inspiring. Then imagine yourself right there with them. Choose from introductory to advanced level classes, from two-hour make-and-take sessions to a weekend devoted to dulcimer music or organic gardening or a week-long concentration in pottery, glass work, or creative writing.
July 21– Field to Fork Festival
Held in conjunction with the Festival of Learnshops in Berea, this event brings community gardening professionals, urban homesteaders, and small scale agriculture producers together for workshops. http://fieldtoforkfestival.blogspot.com.
The Festival of Learnshops is designed to bring out the artist in everyone, regardless of age or experience. Come solo or with significant others, family and friends. There are plenty of “family friendly sessions” to enjoy with kids or grandkids, or art day camps sponsored by the Berea Arts Council, will keep them busy.
