Unclaimed Property includes personal property or financial assets that are presumed abandoned.  In most cases, the owner of such property has forgotten that the particular property or account exists. Sometimes, an owner has died and the heirs don’t know about the property.

The City of Berea files an unclaimed property report with the Department of the Treasury no later than November 1 of each year.  Before submitting the report, the City attempts to locate property owners with property valued at or above $100 by means of mailing letters and by publishing names to the department’s website.

Below is a list of owners for the 2013 reporting period with property presumed abandoned.  Should your name be listed below, please notify the Finance Department via a written request for funds.  Please include proof of personal identification. Amounts not claimed by November 1 will be turned over to the state.
