About
Mission Statement
The Office of Community Resource Development is an appendage of the Berea Police Department (BPD). We are dedicated to providing services to the citizens of Berea. Those services include: community resource consolidation, victim services and program development. Our goal is to build and cultivate relationships with community partners, volunteers and the public.
Resource Coordination
The Community Resource Coordinator seeks to identify social services provided by all governmental entities, private, profit and nonprofit organizations. The Coordinator hopes to partner directly with those agencies to consolidate a list of resources on behalf of the public. The list of services will be updated and appropriate referrals made as circumstances necessitate.
Victim Services
The Coordinator is the BPD Victims’ Advocate. She will diligently work to provide services to those individuals who have been a victims of crime. The Coordinator’s goal is to ensure victims and their families have support and guidance as they go through the criminal justice system. The advocate will also strive to secure needed resources for those individuals.
Program Development
The Coordinator’s third responsibility is to develop programs and create initiatives that have a practical function in the community. Community partners must be involved in the implementation of such programs and initiatives with the hope of bringing about quality of life changes for citizens.
How Do I Become A Partner?
If you have available resources, available time to volunteer or valuable skills, please contact the Community Resources Coordinator. We are always looking for those willing to serve our community.
